I did run into that post with the pictures. It might have been on this site. The seal I just installed was flush and not pressed all the way in like the first one I put in. I'll pull it all apart...
I'll probably have to try the oil pan situation next. I've tried most of what you write here and replaced the gaskets and o rings. I had also foung the video you sent the link to. Could you tell...
"Did you replace the PTC nipple or banjo nipple? I don't think they sell the PTC nipple separately. It comes mounted on the whole pipe from air filter box and turbo. PTC nipple is just a clear airway...
Actually it was a $270.00 hub. But it was a Volvo one.
I've also replaced the VVT hub. I did that before the test drive. I also replaced the cam seal at that time.
At this point i don't think the car is running well enough for that test.
I have a generic scanner and it's showing no codes. Thanks.
I replaced it with a new one.
I can't find the exact point. That's why I posted this. It seems that it must be near the exhaust cam as thats the oiliest area. But I've replaced everything that I think could leak from that...
Help. I'm trying to fix my son's 2001XC. It had the clogged PVC system that blew out the seals on the cam side of the engine. I've replaced the entire PVC system and cleaned out the clogs in the...
Check out the gasket for the Cam sensor unit. That can go bad too.

It appears online that people with other makes with CVVTs have rebuild kits available as the technology is basically the same. I'm trying to find one for our cars, or even the specs on the o-rings. ...
I was not writing about that o ring. There are two large ones inside the CVVT itself. Sorry I didn't make that plain enough.
Can any one who has posted here earlier that they got O rings from Ebay please leave a URL.
I talked to the local Volvo dealer today and they don't have them. Or they don't want to sell them. In the past people posting here have said they got them off EBay. If they are still available...
Does anyone know where of if there is a way to procure the o rings that are in the CVVT? I've looked for days and I have had no luck.
I got it with the torx bit in a box end wrench. Bent the wrench a little, but it came loose and the cam is off so now i can replace the cam seal that got blown out. Thanks for your help.
How did you manage to get a flex head on the end of the cam? Did you remove the wiring harness?
I have both. I'll try them. Thanks
I'm trying to replace the cam seals on my 2001 and can't get the cap over the main bolt off. I bought the right torx tool, but it's on so tight I broke the wrench I was trying to turn it with. Any...
It is the "Positive Temperature Coefficient" that is supposed to stop freezing in the intake system. It is attached to the intake pipe right before the turbo. It's not a valve, it's a heater.
I removed the PTC to clean it and now I can't get it set again. Does this mean I have to buy an intake pipe? Should I get OEM, or aftermarket? I'm new to this era of Volvos. Help.
