What's the best forum (similar to this XC forum...) for info and discussion on a 2000 V70?
No I'm not buying one... I'm just asking for a friend. Really ;-)
Toyota's, Honda's, Nissans -heck- even Hyunday's can easily make 100k miles or even 150k without anything but scheduled maintenance these days. Cars are just built better than in the old days. I...
mkaresh: I had a 2001, so I could have know I would get trouble when I bought it in 2007. I just didn't do my research and learned the hard + expensive way. I'm recommending TrueDelta on the forum of...
Great discussion Arts Gladius.
"slightly"... I would bet significantly (but I cannot be sure, OK).
Why is the tranny of an XC so much more complex that that of a Camry? Doesn't need to...
... if you don't mind a chance of about 50% that you will have to get something fixed within a year... (and those are the numbers for the "good" years). I think when giving advice to someone who has...
That's correct: 2005-2007 relatively OK, and then a plunge in reliability for 2009, with a whopping 143 trips for repairs per 100 owners (I wonder why the 2008 has "only" 68 repair trips per 100...
Seeing stats of several car models (and several makes) next to each other is very informative. TrueDelta gave me the info I needed to ditch the Volvo and buy a Toyota. I will tell you that it hurt to...
this is exactly the benefit of the XC and what I miss since I traded it in for a Toyota...
Avoid Volvo XC70: 2001-2002-2003-2004-2009 (see image attached for True Delta results of today)
And unless you have you have a lot of money to burn on your vehicle, or unless you are a stud...
when I recently replaced the thermostat in my 2001XC I noticed that the original Volvo part that I removed had a year stamp of the birth year of the car and an inscription saying: 90degree...
I did...
Having your lights always on is proven safer. It is of course safer in bad weather conditions, and during dusk and dawn, but also in (really) sunny climates when a driver might be hiding behind...
Oh yeah, and that is a very good point: this is why, when a child is still in the "child seat age/weight/height", you should have them fit nice and snug. I know they don't like it...
On our forum I didn't see anyone mentioning that "a five point harness is safer" (safer than what by the way... four points, three?... I'm confused).
I think everybody agrees that when a child...
What is it that they say they will do for $550 plus tax?
Google (shopping) search for "stant 10819" starting at $5.90
I've used it with success for over 2 years now.
UPDATE for who's interested:
I had the front wheel bearings replaced (+one left inner tie rod) and that fixed it! It's so nice and quiet again!
It cost me $828 (2x$200 for bearings+hubs, 1 x $50...
Fuel efficient?? (I guess it depends on what you compare the xc with...)
I just checked it: the whine is speed related, sorry for that mistake in my initial post.
You are right of course. When I now think about it I think it can be speed dependent (sorry)... I'll have to check it today.
got it, thanks man
I appreciate your quick answer Chilled Man, I am, however, a bit puzzled.
Can you give me a hint?
Do you mean:
a. Wheel bearing AND axle are the problem
b. Wheel bearing OR axle is the...
Hi there,
after reading a post by Rockginxc http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15608 I would like to hear about this thing I've noticed:
In my 2001 XC, I've noticed a whine that's...
Thanks for the responses, so far. This was actually a stupid thing to put in a poll. I should have just started a tread with a simple question: "what is a flush?"
Still the replies are quite...
I've read on this forum about flushing fluids (engine oil, transmission oil, coolant, etc).
But what does the general forum poster mean with "flushing"?
