Hi there,
I have already posted your case on : "Keyser Soze T6" Thread on Volvo forum uk.XC90 section. He had the same issue. I hope he will get back to you soon.
Hi there,
I would avoid both models indicated (Transmission problems), instead buy 06 2.5T or 07-present 3.2 AWD.
You mean a 2.5T and not a T5 right? also why don't you consider a 3.2 normally aspirated engine, the reliability of it's transmission proven as good if not better than that of the 2.5T desired.
Also...
Thanks cattlecar,
My XC90 is an 2008 3.2 petrol with 26.000 Km. (16.5 K miles) on the clock, It is made in Sweden and I would assume that it is the same European standard 3.2 version.I had the car...
Hi there,
Can you please shed some more light on the vaccum issue of the fuel tank you mentioned earlier? it seems that mine and other uk forum members are having the same or similar problem....
Your choices are very limited, 2.5T is the only 03-05 XC90 that you should go for, it is a 5 cylinder (low pressure turbo) Volvo engine, introduced on their 850 sedan back in the early ninties....
As OldMBguy mentioned, there is no XC90 T5, in the US, Canada or all over the world, because a T5 engine is a five cylinder high pressure turbo that was never mounted on any XC90 model. The 5...
This is a low mileage car for an 2004 MY. I would buy a car like this only after a complete check up from a private and trusted Volvo mechanic.
The reliability of a 2.5T is rock solid, no engine or...
No, I didn't have this issue with mine. My Conti's grip is as good on wet or dry surfaces. However, I would avoid Toyos on a car like this. Stick to the best even if you have to spend more:...
Congratulations, how about posting some photos?
Does it look like this:

OldMBGuy,
Do I understand that it is possible to buy a diesel powered Mercedes Benz in the U.S these days and you can not buy a diesel Volvo?
I wish you the best msayim. Keep saving though. I think you have a good choice, XC60s are great cars.
Ok, so the damage is done and you only learn from your own mistakes, what are you going to do about it next?
Personally, I think that you have bought a gem. An 2007 XC90 V8 is a great vehicle and...
Excuse me, changing 4 factory built in speakers out of 8 of an XC90 is not upgrading a car music system, it is kids play. And buying low end commercial speakers like infinities would make the matter...
OldMBGuy,
Yes, I have never owned a diesel powered vehicle before, and I don't think that I will, for the simple reason that they are banned (on private cars) in the little country of mine. The...
No,it is not. A 5 years old XC90 should not be doing this if it has been well taken care of. What I would do is to take it to another trusted mechanic, see what he has to say.
Good Luck
Keep us...
Hi OldMBGuy,
Thank you for the time and the feedback.
An XC90 is a sophisticated piece of engineering that needs to be matched with a similar sophisticated engine, it is not a pick up truck nor a...
A petrol engine is definitely more fun to drive, it has less parts that go wrong.
and in countries where mountains dominate the terrain, it handles much better, faster, more powerful and...
Excuse me, but why do you want a diesel?
I am sorry, but it looked much better before.
1-Of course, if you are looking for more power. However V8s have been discontinued two years ago.
2-Few squeaks and rattles of interior plastics, comes and goes. Nothing to worry about.
3-...
Hi Steve,
congratulations on your new XC90.
As for the rest of your inquiries, I would suggest you post them on Volvo forum U.K, you will get a much better feedback, because as you know everybody...
Hi Cyrus,
I think your wife made the right decision.
2006 XC90 2.5T or 2008 XC90 3.2 would be your best bet.
XC90 2.5T: 5 cylinder turbo engine, 208 hp. slightly underpowered, good gas mileage and...
Nothing wrong with the 3.2 SI6, I have it on my 2008 XC90, smooth as silk, high fuel consumption, but normal for a car this heavy. I don't like the very short first gear of the Aisin transmission...
