    Default Driver seat removal

The seat belt buckle on the driver seat of my '04 XC70 must be replaced. To do that requires removal of the seat (at least I don't see any way to get at the bolt/connector with the seat in place). Searching the forum didn't yield any useful information.
Any pointers/photos/references that would help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks much,
    Don

According to VADIS/VIDA, there shouldn't be any need to remove the seat.

Thanks for the good information, but it doesn't address removing the seat.

And anyone who can replace the buckle (look at the last picture in the above post - note that it is a passenger seat, not driver) with the seat in place has much smaller hands and a better mirror-on-a-stick system than I do. The seat is very close to the center console/transmission hump - I can barely touch the bolt; there is no way I could get a torque wrench in there.

My apology for posting the wrong diagrams. Hope this helps.

Absolutely perfect Art! Is there any chance you could elaborate on the special grounding tool required? A photo or sketch? I certainly have no desire to deploy the side airbag when I do this.
Thanks again for the excellent post - it's certainly got me thinking about things I didn't consider initially.

Here is the description of the ESD (electrostatic discharge) ground lead according to the Volvo Tools Catalogue. It appears to be insulated cable attached to a couple of coopper clamps.

Great! Looks like my battery jumper cables would do the trick.

I'm testing this out to see if it will work. I found your post here while looking for images of the seat belt buckle. Your Photobucket images are being displayed as blurry watermarked versions of the originals. I changed each link to start with a 'w' rather than an 'i', which does work when pasting the links in a browser. If it doesn't work to display your images properly on the forum page then I'll delete this post, unless that is not allowed. Moderator(s), please delete this post if it is still here but unhelpful.
