Did all the 98 XC's come with a turbo as standard equipment? If so, where is the turbo in relation to the engine - behind the engine, hidden under a shroud? The owners manual that came with the car is pretty much useless and I have not found any cut sheet on the web. It appears a service manual is non existant also. I was under the impression from Edmonds that all xc's were turbo - but for the life of me and three other non Volvo shade tree mechanics its missing!

All first generation XC's are turbo, the turbo is located in the back near the firewall, follow the piping. Hope that helps..

I'm pretty sure the turbocharger has a cover of some sort, or something that would have to be removed to see it. Otherwise, you're best off following the air piping. Good luck to ya'.
