    Default Valet Key submersion

For the last 3 years I've been wearing my Valet key on a shoe string around my neck and under my wetsuit when I go surfing. I surf on an average of once a week.

As I understand it, there is a chip inside the head of the key. So far, I haven't experienced any problems. Has any one had their Valet key fail to work due to exposure to water?

    Default a little rust but...

...no other problems so far. I been wearing mine on a d-ring inside my PFD while whitewater kayaking for the past three years and haven't had any problems with the key opening the door or starting the car. That key does show some rust stains where the cuts for the "teeth" are though...

You shouldn't have any problems. The only thing that might cause water to get in there is if you dive with it, and I suspect even that's unlikely.
