    Unhappy U.S.A. Homelink in Iceland.

To start with, grate forum looking forward to spending time here.

Just bought a V70XC '01 imported to Iceland from the states, it has a homelink transmitter in the sun visor but it's not responding to any codes that a try to program it with.
Does anyone know if it supports the European 433.92 Mhz standard and if not if it's possible to exchange the transmitting crystals in the unit?
The opener is a chamberlain and the remote that comes with it sends 433.92 and is working perfectly.
Maybe I can adjust the receiver to U.S. standard and just by a new hand remote.
I know I could probably just by a European Homelink unit from the local dealer but that would cost an arm and both legs.

Any help here will be greatly appreciated.

    Greetings from Iceland

    Welcome FrostyV70XC,

According to Homelink’s website, max operating range for garage door devices is up to 418 Mhz. You may wish to contact them for further assistance.

May I ask how you attempted to program the Homelink?

I assume the garage door system uses a rolling code, and if so, you may have to program the Homelink three times to get it to work.

I had a problem with Homelink and my opener. I have a Martin door opener, and it operates at a lower freq then Homelink.

To solve this I purchased a Genie Intellicode Universal Conversion Kit
It works with just about any garage door opener and lets me use Homelink.

You will still have to read the volvo manual to program the Homelink to work with rolling codes, but its not hard.
