    Default Rear wiper

How difficult is it to replace the rear blade?

Any aftermarket suppliers or is this a dealer only option?

    Cheers

    Lightbulb Easy install

Rear wiper blade is Bosh. In my neck of the woods, it'i only available from my dealer. Easy install. Take a look at you owner's manual. It's just a snap-off snap-on thing.

I bought a replacement blade at Auto Zone for 2 dollars. just the rubber blade. I had to break the old blade out of the holder assembly by sort of bending the blade in the middle as there was not a way to just slide the old blade out. But once the old blade is out the new one slides right in with no problem.

Unhappy Some things are more difficult than they seem.

Here’s a bit of a tip if you happen to have a stubborn wiper blade that just refuses to come loose. Find a thick nail or, in my case, I used an Allen wrench....actually, any object that you can use as leverage will do.

Place it in the crotch of the arm near the blade armature support.
With your hand, grip the end of the blade together with the wiper arm and squeeze firmly down on them until you hear the blade release with a ‘click’. The nail/wrench will act as a lever support and make the task of removing a stuck blade much easier.

I discovered the hard way of performing this last year when I attempted to pull a stuck blade free from its support and ended up breaking the plastic clip that held the wiper in place. As a result, the entire wiper arm had to be replaced.

    Default Thank you

A lot of effort to change a blade but those crazy Swedes make a great car.

    Thanks for the advice.

Question, how hard was it(any other tips?) to replace the whole arm?

My clips are broken too, and I need to change out the arm. It is waiting for me at the dealer to pickup, and just didn't want to tear something up trying to figure out trial-and-error how to get the old arm off, and the new one on

    Al,

Folding up the plastic armature at the base of the wiper will reveal the nut that attaches the arm to the glass. Remove the nut using a wrench and pull off the wiper arm towards you.
