Complete rebuild. Struts were Sachs. Springs were Lesjofors. Mounts were Bilstein.
FCP sells a whole suspension kit, and while the price is no different than buying the parts individually, it makes it convenient to look at what?s included, and add it to your cart.
If you are going to do front struts, make certain that you get new spring seats, and new strut bearings, as well as the hardware. I would also do the front lower control, arms, and the ball joints, while you?re at it. The result is a smoother, more controlled ride. You?ll feel fewer clunks and bumps out of the front end as well.
On the XC, I ended up doing an entire suspension rebuild, which included the above as well as rear shock mounts, rear shocks, and rear springs, as well as inner and outer tie rod ends. The car drives like new.
