    Default Duralast struts

Autozone sells Duralast LS34-85841 struts for third gen xc70.

I bought a 2013 XC70 T6 in another state after previous owner had them installed by their local shop about a year ago. The springs were too soft and the shocks too stiff. The struts lowered the front of the car by 2 inches and threw camber out of spec. And the ride was terrible, felt like a solid bar connecting suspension to car.

I removed and installed used Volvo struts and everything was corrected. Front end was raised, camber within tolerances, and ride is smooth as it should be.

I phoned autozone to tell therm they need to amend their website to remove Volvo XC70 from applicable cars. They want original purchase receipt for the struts before they will do anything. I told them I don't care about a refund, just that they should fix their website. Nope, then cannot do without proof of purchase.

I sent an email to the shop but am not expecting a reply since they failed to reply to my emails with before and after pictures of the car and alignment specs included. Their first response email was to say their vendor told them those shocks were correct for the car. Looks like a catch 22 loop.

..wonder who actually made the struts?

Autozone would probably need the original receipt to authenticate, I think I get that.

Since you have already replace the struts, I'd let this one go. In a manner of speaking, someone with a bigger hammer might drive this nail into Autozone's board.
