Default Moved howardsvolvos website and seeking member interested in maintaining it

Hey guys, haven't been around volvoxc for awhile since not having my P2s for 10 years now.

The original hosting site freewebs.com started requiring accounts just to view the content a few years ago. Thus much less friendly. I just moved it all to google sites (all internal cross links works unless I missed some, a couple of sections to clean up.. will do soon) Here is the new link (also in my signature)

    https://sites.google.com/view/howardsvolvos/

google sites also enable easy collaboration. So anyone interested in editing the site to keep it up to date, I can add you as an editor. Probably just need 1 or 2 key people to carry it onward. Was never much maintenance for me. This hosting service change cost me 5-6 hours total this time to copy all contents over (all external links were preserved, site internal links needed relinking with new hosting url)

Also keeping the old website online to support any old posts with direct link to it.

BTW, my vehicles since the P2 is a Gen3 Prius and 2013 Tesla Model S. For those thinking early Model S is cheap enough to own if we can DIY like the P2s... Its like 10x worse haha (both in tools requires and dealing with Tesla's design and parts problems). The electric motor's rotor center shaft requires coolant while rotating at 10k RPM @ 100mph... Take a guess how long that seal last? haha. Model S owners are replacing the whole motor/inverter/gear assembly every 30-50k miles. About to do mine after exiting warranty honeymoon (had 3 replaced in 40k miles under warranty... common) Have to drop 500-600lb motor/inverter/gear/rear subframe/hub/rotor assembly. Car has no separate lifting and stand points... Definitely a challange. If anyone is curious about this crazy induction motor design's cooling problem. Here is another website I made recently haha

This is all before battery failures common at 100k miles. Replacement battery is $25k! haha. Replacing failed cell (1/7000) is no trivial task. 1000lb battery pack drop. Destructive opening of sealed top cover. deadly voltage/current until pack's serial circuit partitioned. Install require precision so basically auto lift + lift table.

Anyhow, talk me first if you want to jump into a used Tesla Model S that has dropped to lower prices. Maybe okay DIY if you have a lift setup

Thank you for talking me out of buying a Tesla. Reading your comments about it made me cringe. Good luck with the website. It's helped so many of us. I hope someone will maintain it.

wow 4x P2s and I think you are like really high miles too. Great stuff.

Not sure if I helped you first or the other way around. Consulted with you a whole bunch on that pesky AW55-50 haha.

Sending PM to get you authoring credentials. Thanks!
