    Default SRS warning

    I recently purchased a 2014 XC70 T6.
A couple of days ago I pulled the front door panels to upgrade the speakers.
Afterwards a SRS warning appeared in the display, along with the Check Engine light coming on.
Any ideas on what I did wrong?

    Thanks,
    Woody

Not sure you did anything wrong. Coincidence?

Owners of used Volvos are smart to invest in a Volvo-specific OBD-II Scanner Diagnostic Tool. You'll be able to read out specifics to go with the SRS warning and CEL.

As a general guideline, if repairs involve unplugging a connector, if this disconnects any module that is "on" when the car is off, you should only do this while the battery is disconnected.
Examples: Power seat modules, power tailgate module, door lock modules, infotainment module, key-fob-sensing module, security module, etc.

I would look at the Autel and the iCarSoft scanners, the ones that contain Volvo-specific diagnostics. This tool will save you thousands over the years.
