Is there a simple fix to restore the fuel door which has lost its springback Or does it require some not-worthwhile disassembly?
I could try to rig some velcro to keep it closed while driving.

Mine broke at the latch on the chassis itself so was a bigger issue. But I just took two button magnets and glued one to the chassis (bottom left) and one to the door and its worked fine for years. Can't lock it but that's ok.
It’s either the spring, which is $4, or the hinge, which is $15. The retaining clips on the hinge can break, leaving the spring loose. Just fix it properly.
