    Default 2001 V70XC - Crossed 200,000 Miles

It is a feast of fearless ownership and trusted companion.

The demon that lures one in to trade away includes residual value, warranty, and high mileage. JR's constant reminder of 2001 with a bad transmission provided every reason to beat it.

I agree, it took some aggressive DIY for past 10 years to reach this milestone.

Good job! That's my milestone (I'm at 187K), though my wife reprimands me every time I spend money on parts.

Congratulations! The XC has 259,000 on it now. Running like a champ. I see no reason it can’t make 300,000.

Excellent! I reached 245K last week on my 2006 XC70, many thanks to this forum. Car runs better than ever (nothing to do with the thousands of dollars I've spent since 170K, I'm sure). I wonder what challenges lie ahead at 300K+...

Indeed, it drives like a champ!

Extremely responsive after a recent lubrication system service -– CVVT, PCV, cam and crank seals, oil cooling, and oil pan.

That's quite an achievement! What's the biggest issue you had with your XC?

These things run. Sold a Mazda Protege I had maintained with 180,000 miles (still had original clutch) for a one owner 02' XC with 190,000. The Mazda ran great but rust was creeping in and every nut and bolt was a struggle to remove. Even though the original owner had the car serviced regularly at Volvo I did have to deal the common high mileage issues like the PCV, neutral safety switch and the dreaded trans flares. After numerous 'Gibbons' flushes and a B4 servo cover upgrade the trans issues are virtually non existent and the car runs like a champ. Just turned over 250,000 and I see no reason why it won't make 300k.
