Default Hella fog lights and nudge bar - installed.

    Cheers all!

Doesn't even feel like winter today in Virginia, in the 60's! Installed the little "nudge" bar and finally put my good ole 550's to use...

I've actually used the instructions from https://www.qpax.se/ (even though my bar is not made by them) that Reverend provided (thanks, great tip1)

The depth of the hole from bumper surface to the metal re-bar is too deep to make the proper thread. The tool just does not reach deep enough. Drilled the hole, and used long 10.9 grade bolts to cut in and make their own thread inside the aluminum re-bar. Also used metal tube as "spacers" insert, cut to length. Very solid mount for the fogs.

Nice installation, but aren't the lights placed too high to be really effective?

Thanks! Quite happy with results! I like how these look and functional. As to the pattern - it is same mounting height I used over the years on all my Coupe GT cars. Not sure if there is any scientific way of measuring the output, but these cut through the fog like a champ!

The install looks great! What do product do you use to condition the front bumper with?

Great question - as it looks particularly nice.

I have had good luck with Wipe New. Prep the surface well (wash and then, I use some mineral spirits to wipe it down) and the Wipe New brings it back to almost that good. I will say that my wife’s XC has 260,000 miles on it and is an outside car.

I don’t think it will ever look as good as his...

I've used 3M Rubber treatment and tire dressing. It looks like that after application, but like anything, it doesn't last. Maybe you get a couple or a few weeks out of it depending on weather.

I've been meaning to try this product for some time now, but instead I just keep using this "wild home-brew mixture"...

With all products in the past 30 years I found it to be the case unfortunately as well!

I've been using this for many years, 50/50 mixture of Boiled Linseed oil and Turpentine... Don't laugh! Many years ago I bought WJ, Grand Cherokee for off road fun build, paint was exceptional but all the plastic cladding was absolute fade of every shade of grey.

Searching the Jeep forums, this Boiled Linseed oil and Turpentine came up. Hardware store across the street. Use gloves, old rag/sock works the best. Liberal first application, let it sit for 30 min or so, then go over again with just just "moistened" same sock/rage and wipe of any excess.

I've never used anything that lasts as long as this mixture. Be warn, very flammable! I'm keeping it in the glass jar... I washed the car today, it still looks great (of course, now it rains...)
