    Default New Voltage Regulator Issues

I have a 2007 XC70, I was getting a charging system warning and battery light on long road trips, and the car was getting hard to start after a few short trips. So I replaced the battery and voltage regulator with part number Bosch F00MA45212. Now I get the charging system error and battery light about 10-15 seconds after starting the car. When I check the voltage there is no charge occurring from the alternator. Today the battery was down to 11.65 volts even with the car running. After checking the regulator there doesnt seem to be much I could have done wrong. Anything else to look at other than maybe a bad/wrong part?

    Bad part.

    Or.

Wrong part. Brushes and/or rectifier might have been the problem.

Alternators can fail in many ways other than just the voltage regulator/brushbox.

I'd say you need a new alternator - or someone that can fix yours. (as long as you installed the regulator properly)

Thanks, I think I'll order another regulator for it, to be sure its just not a bad part. Then take it in somewhere.
