I just got new tires on my '03 XC70, and the tire installer put a sticker on the windshield with the inflation pressures, which were 35psi front/38psi rear. 35/38 is, in fact, what's on the sticker on the pillar inside the left rear door.

I'd always gone by what's printed on the sticker on the inside of the fuel fill door, which is 30/30 unless you're carrying a heavy load in the back.

I've gotten perfectly fine tire wear and handling at 30/30. Why are there two different tire inflation specs on the car in different places?
