    Default VIN Codes 90, 94, 95

    My 2012 XC70 is approaching 150K miles.

In the service manual, they reference the auxiliary drive belt for "VIN codes 90, 94, 95".

I've checked several online explanations of Volvo VINs, but they don't match my VIN. Also tried to match to engine codes, but no go. I do have a "90" in positions 4-5 of my VIN, but again, that could be fluke - doesn't match any of the Volvo VIN layouts I've seen online.

Can anyone shed light on exactly what those VIN codes refer to?

The only 2 engine choices for 2012 XC70s for Canada were the I6 "3.2" vs. "T6". It doesn't matter which one you have -- the accessory belt should be replaced at 241K km. (150K mi.). The other engine codes are probably for diesel and "R" variants of the I-6. It's a good idea to replace the alternator drive collar at the same time.

    For comparison, I have 2 USA T6s:
    2013 YV4902...
    2015 YV4902

    Thank you - it's the T6.
