Default SRS-Airbag Service Urgent - I did a dumb thing...

Short story: I had the passenger seat out of the car and didn't unplug the battery first. Any way without some scan tool that I don't have to reset the SRS code?

Some codes go away after a number (3?) of OBD runs without error.
I don't know if the SRS code is one of them, but you could give it a try

No, you have to read the codes anytime a SRS code is stored to be able to fix the fault (plug in the seat) and then erase them (and turn off the light).

Not only a scan tool but VIDA.

I once disconnected the Climate Control Panel to replace a radio. Connected the battery back up to check radio function.

Same mistake that you made; module disconnected with battery power on. I got the SRS light. Only the dealer could clear it... and the $75 I spent on that "service" led me to buy VIDA for myself...

My shop has a Snap on Modis scan tool that can reset Volvo SRS lights, I'm sure other higher end scan tools can also. Sometimes it's quicker to use the Snap on scanner than Vida.

    hoonk,

Thank you for the info! I'll see if one of my friends has a scan tool that'll reset SRS codes. I'm going to be selling our "XC" soon and the last thing anyone wants to see when considering a purchase is a code of any sort.

    Thanks again!
