I had a similar issue in an 05, albeit at a different speed range. Turned out to be the fuel rail pressure sensor.
The Rail Pressure Sensor would have been my next check.

These are all I did.
- I cleaned the MAF sensor with a MAF spray cleaner.
- Switched from the XC70 to this V70XC, still it hesitates.
- Bought a fuel filter from AutoZone. I did not install it since I could not find what or why the back nipple is slanted, so I returned it.
- Bought a fuel filter from another place that deals more with European parts. Installed it, took a test drive with high revs, VOILA! It was a smooth drive.
