FYI...

I keep records and our XC70 has been driven 16,294 miles using 736.647 gallons of gas for a cost of $1,526.08. This includes 1200 miles driven in Sweden/Norway in Mar/Apr last year.

Car has been on several long multi-1000 mile trips and used frequently about town.

This data gives

22.12 MPG
$2.07/gal (average using mostly premium - the Swedish/Norway gas prices were very high )
$0.09366 per mile for gas

What can you say after that. The man should have been committed ages ago

The mpg is very interesting considering you must have done some long trips and got some good mileage, I thought it would be higher.

Still there is only one thing left to say to you Barry

Well done for such precise record keeping

I wish I had started keeping those kinds of records when we got our '03 last September.

22+MPG is pretty good. If I am to believe our dashboard computer, we are at 21, mostly city driving and I am happy with that. I suppose with all your long stretches of highway driving I would have expected more, too...

AWD*, don't forget that the US Gallon is smaller than ours (about the only darn thing that is )

My rough calculation indicates about 26.42 mpg UK. not bad I'm striggling to get 25mpg out of mine...

Hey, I'm getting 34 Mpg US on mine. 20/80 city/highway, so I think TrueBlue's numbers is quite resonable.

XCviking,

There's a big difference in gas mileage between a D5 and a regular 2.5T.

Way to go Barry !
I have kept all the same records, just never did long term analysis. We started out with premium, went to regular, made me nervous, so we settled at super.
Best MPG since getting it was highway driving in MD (flat &#33 at 29.6, just could not get it to 30
Have 14k on it now (only 514 in Sweden), since July. Can't tell I love it can you
