From autobild.de. Aside from the V70 styled grille, I think it's looking pretty nice.

Really hoping now that Volvo build the XC50 from this:

I agree. it looks pretty cool.  What the rough target price for the v50/xc50?  Will the car be a step up from the V40 wagon or is this a replacement for that.

Edmunds has an artist rendering of the V50:

And another... sounds like we should have all the details on this vehicle within the next two days or so. No word on the XC50 though.

Wow, I like it!  It looks be in the same size as the passat, BMW 3, and audi A4.  We tried all three of those and they were too small, plus no third-row seating.  I think this will do well for Volvo since the current V40 doesn't seem to do so well (and for good reason).

I still think the base V70 and the XC are the way to go.

These photos really show the car, it looks great.  A very nice addition to the Volvo lineup.

Really nice looking. I like the dual exhausts too.

I hope the XC version will be unveiled soon.

Sorry guys but I guess I will always like the "brick" look. Kind of hate to see Volvo moving away from it but, whatever it takes to keep them solvent
It is one of the primary reasons we didn't succome to the pressure to buy new when we were looking at the pre-owned in Seattle last spring. The better half and I both like the look of the first generation V70XC AWD still kind of square looking even though it took some getting used to the hood disappearing in front of you...

The V50 was unveiled yesterday in Bologna.   Volvo has a number of press releases out, at

    http://apps.volvocars.us/V50/abstracts.html.

Here's a link I found, with some pix, including partial interior/seat layout.
