1. Day-1: You order it (deposit $2000) and indicate Day-60 as your choice date (this Day-60 date has to agreed on by Volvo) for pickup in Goteborg or some other pickup point authorized by OSD program policies.
2. Day-14: You receive an order confirmation from Volvo which contains an Order Number. This may take 7 to 14 days. Could be quicker so long as you don't add things to your order after having placed it with your local sales person.
3. With the Order Confirmation you will receive instruction on how to arrange travel.
4. Travel to Goteborg to pickup on Day-60
5. Your tour about for 7 days.
6. Day-67: Drop off car at Goteborg factory delivery center (FDC)
7. Retuen home
8. Car arrives at your dealership between Day-107 and Day-117. That is 40/50 days after you drop it off at the FDC.
You can adjust the days as you see fit -- but this is essentially the overall timeline you can work with.
Make sure you have valid Passport and Driver's license.
For me I ordered on Dec 10th, decided to pickup in Goteborg on Mar 28th, then will tour about Sweden and Norway for 7-8 days and expect to get my car sometime during last two weeks of May. I stretched mine out so I could save $$$s up but could have been made shorter quite easily but 1-2 months.
Hope this helps.
