File attachments to posts have been turned off as I prepare to migrate the forums to the new vBulletin software.

I haven't decided whether or not they'll be allowed once the new software has been fully set up, though the photo galleries will indeed remain open for posting of XC related images.

Keep in touch with this thread to find out all the latest on the upgrade... has been a much bigger job than I was expecting due to partially incompatible databases and software, but I think I have the system in place now for a smooth transition... should go some time in the next few days.

I'll miss the "old XC way" forum a little... Well, I'll get over it one day!

Thanks Taylor and keep up the good work. I enjoy the site very much

Roger that Taylor. I'm sure the integration will go smoothly. Besides, I've come to realize that we're a pretty patient group here.

Look forward to the new look and really appreciate the work that you do.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarghhhhhhhhhh!

I must admit I read this thread with much trepidation; after all I was just getting used to using this board - with all its quirks (well, not many, actually).

I then popped across to the vBulletin people and noticed - well, what? - not a lot really, it looks ("it" being the demo pages and some sites using the program) remarkably similar, that is most things are in the same places and have much the same content as this Board.

Goody!

I then looked at the owners - vB is British!! Hooray, Hooray.

XC70.com is the only board to which I subscribe, so I don't exactly know what is out there - but I'm impressed with the quality here. However, I'm sure that our Grand Poobah has ensured that what we get will be as good as - if not better than the current setup.

I have also picked up a copy of the User Manual so I won't have to ask too many fool questions later.

I wait with bated breath for the roll out. All power to your elbow, Taylor.

Mike (TrueBlue) -
If you want to get a taste of "what's out there", go to ColoradoK5. That is THE definitive board for everything Chevy K5 Blazer 4x4 related. I've been a member over there for a few years now. It got so popular that Steve Fox (site owner) had to make it a "pay site", which I fully understand the reasoning behind it. I just have not "antied up" yet. You'll get an idea of what a well designed site looks like. Taylor's done a mighty fine job here as well!! Keep it up!!

Mike (BlueGrass-XC),

Thanks for that - Wow - a busy site, very colourful; lots of action.

BB's are very much more in evidence over your side of the Pond; I'm learning fast.

's me again,

I didn't realize what Taylor meant by "File attachments to posts have been turned off" (assumed he meant not available for new posts) until I did some research on old topics, and then I saw No Pics, No links .

Oh dear, Oh dear, Oh dear. Please, please, please, O Great and Magnificent Poohbah will we get them back - at least for existing stuff; being able to bounce around and look at some of the excellent pictures is one of the great plusses for this site.

I'm happy to learn new techniques, but it would be horrible to lose the history.

Hopefully,
Mike.

It's just bloody typical, you get use to a model, it 'wraps itself around you' like my '01 which appears to be the same time that this site was set up, according to Coastal's joining date and then.... 3 years later

Without warning, without press releases, without newsletters, without flyers, without nothing...... along comes a new model. O yea it's faster, it's better, it's sleeker, s'pose its got 'clean lines' (like the new S40), its going to be 'higher' spec than before. (with its 4x4 attitude)
