Default Anyone know what this thing is?

Enclosed file photo,XC70 4 wired gadget behind driver side headlight under the fender . The wiring diag of it and the same harness is also appreciated
The car is 2007 XC70,left fender, fender liner, front bumper are removed. It is not a connector, 4 wires come from conduit that feeds left headlight/left fog light/horns to this gray connector like thing, front of it has a molded 1" pipe with open 1/4" hole at its tip.
Could be a gadget for air pressure or temp...etc or just an unused connector with it's front sealed.Normally hidden from view by fender liner and bumper cover. Like to test it OK before mounting fender/bumper.Anyone who had removed left fender and it's liner should have seen it.

Looks like lots of things are removed and harness is probably not where it is usually located. And that connector is a pretty common shape. Probably easier if you take pics of where the rest of the harness goes and what else it connects to.

Did some googling for you, leave you with what I found so far.

    1. 07 XC70 wiring diagram https://www.qclt.com/html/volvo_ewd_...es/3998202.pdf

Looks like you have 4 wires coming from the device colored Red (R) Brown (BN) Green-White (GR-W) and Blue (or maybe violet)-White (BL-W or VO-W)

Page 81/83/84 might be the closest with R GR-W and BN which connects to SWM and LSM. These are light switch and steering column connections for Bi-Xenon or Halogen.

    2. Since its bundled with head and fog light, perhaps google for those wiring harnesses just to see if they have similar connectors attached. Found the halogen harness and looked nothing like yours. Maybe its Bi-Xenon?

    3. Here is an 01 V70XC's wiring harness diagram in the how-to section. Don't know if similar enough to your 07 but here it is for reference

    http://www.volvoxc.com/0/resources/h...s_diagrams.pdf

Anyhow, leaving these leads for you.

The height (aim) of the headlights can be adjusted from the dash on Volvos sold in some markets. Perhaps the plug is for the adjustment motor. (that does not exist on a North American car)
