    Default Transmission Counter

Can the transmission counter be reset with any of the diagnostic tools your local garage would have or is VIDA the only way to do it?

Mine have never been reset and I have 190k on the car and I am towing a trailer next week for 9 hrs. Fluid has been drained and filled regularly so it is nice and red/pink right now like it comes out of the bottle.

VIDA is the only way and resetting the counter has not effect on performance, just changing the fluid is sufficient.

Thank you. I understand it has no affect on performance. However, I was under the impression if you exceed the counter limits you are at risk for a shutdown which I cannot afford towing a trailer 9 hrs. I am sure I will see some high heat events on my trip given some of the terrain I need to travel and at 190k miles I could be 1 event away or 50 or more, but I don’t know, so it seems safer to reset the fluid counter...
