I considered the options when the CD player in my T5 wagon ate a CD a couple years ago. It had other issues, too: it would randomly change source and/or channels. My options: about $50 worth of adapter/covers with the cost of a new head unit (several hundred for GPS Map, Bluetooth, etc) that I really wanted, or $100 for a used unit from Erie.
In the interest of quickly getting this resolved, I bought the used unit from Erie. I told myself I would upgrade when it dies...
That was four years ago..
