After re-installing the battery box following the water pump install, I receive the message "Engine hood open", when the hood is closed and secure. Everything works as it did before my other repair. Is the sensor at the hood latch and what else might cause this message to display? Is the routing and tension on the cable sensitive? Does anyone have any ideas on where I should investigate?

Fixed Itself
To my surprise and pleasure the message has disappeared; almost as if it repaired itself. I suspect with the car on a set of ramps for 3 weeks, the sensor remained open and after a day in its normal attitude with engine heat, came unstuck? I did read other occurrences caused by rust proofing or oil contaminating the sensor.
