    Default Should I buy a 2010 xc70 or a 2010 xc60

Our trusty 2005 V70 2.5T was totalled last week after taking a hit from the rear from a large SUV piloted by a zombie driver using her cell phone, so I am looking to replace it. We have owned many Volvos and the 2005 V70 was the best one. We are trying to decide between a third generation XC70 or an XC60 (if we can find one in our price range).

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. It seems like there aren't very many of either of these two models available on the used market. There are plenty of XC90s, but they are too big for our needs.

Both of those cars in that year are offered with the turbo motor (xc90 is not)
The xc70 can come with wood on the dash and wood/chrome center console - xc60 is usually a brushed metal - both use the same basic drivetrain, cargo area is shorter in the xc60 - so it's a personal choice.

2006 XC90 could be had with the 2.5 5cyl turbo. I think it is adequate but many say sluggish. My spouse drove both (06 XC90, 07 XC70) and preferred the XC70 very much.

We tested an xc90 and didn't like it. Way too big for our needs.

My wife really like her 2011 XC70, it had been just about trouble free but only 33K miles.
Nice steady ride on the highway and off road capable.
The XC60 is just to small for us.

From across the Pond - The XC70 is (was) made in Sweden and the XC60 in Belgium...

Over here there are more problems (mostly with trim) on the '60 than on the trusty '70. That may be because the 60 is a Mum's car.
I tried the 60 on launch and found the legroom poor - I drive long legged, which I can do easily in the '70.
My UK style may well not be appropriate to you guys 'over there'..

Mine: XC 70 Sport 2009 D5 Inscription Electric Blue.
VNS, DSTC and 4C, BLIS, LDW ventilated leather ACC; Yummy.

All gone now - XC70 MY 13 SE LUX Flamenco red - goes better than the '09 even with its "Polestar plus" upgrade. I justy miss the PCC...

Hers: V60 Flamenco Red 215HP D5 (like above XC70 spec)

I went through the same decision process two years ago and after driving both, I decided on the XC70. It rides better and has more room in the rear, it is just not as tall. I prefer the six over the five cylinder because it is smoother. AND I think the XC70 looks better. Most the SUV type vehicles look like balloons with wheels!
