Default Just Picked up a 2004 Volvo XC70! Wanted some input on upgrades!

    Hi everyone,

So I bought a single owner, high mileage XC70. She just installed a new transfer case, timing belt, factory plugs and coils.

I've always wanted an XC70 and couldn't pass up on this thing, it's in very good shape.

So I have on order a skid plate, IPD Heavy Duty Turbo Control Valve, Turbo hoses.

Changing all the fluids and filters., also going to replace the oil trap.

The car needs front struts, strangely enough she only had the rear recently done due to leaking but opted out of the front because she wasn't going to keep the car.

So anyway, I am going to install sachs front struts, with TRW sway bars, and tie rods, control arm bushings were recently done.

My question is, I am interested in the 2" lift from the bad swede kit. Should that be accompanied with the IPD Front & Rear Anti-Sway Bar Kit, or is it not necessary?

I'd prefer to do it all in one sweep.

Can anyone comment that has the 2" lift and later added the sway bar, or vice-versa?

Also am I missing anything? Probably going to touch up the leather a tad with leather magic

I am still happy to have paid less than 4 figures for this. Feels like a steal, previous owner picked it up directly from the factory and didn't want to deal with used car selling.

She was going to trade it in for peanuts so offered it to me

lastly going to try to keep the audio upgrade simple, but probably will put pioneers in there

Cancel the HD TCV and stick with the OEM Pierburg.

It has been noted on the forums that the OEM unit works best, the HD TCV has a higher failure rate due to heat and can cause boost spikes.

What about the Bad Swede Lift w/ or w/o the anti-sway bar kit from IPD?

Depends on your use. Do you want the lift just for ride height or do you plan to off-road frequently?

You might want to repair that drivers side headlight wiper too, as it's parked incorrectly.

could use the clearance for offroading. fairly easy offroading, mostly salt flats, but occasionally have to traverse over some steep terrain to get to destinations.
