Self leveling HID headlamp aiming

I have a 2012 XC70 T6 with the HID / Xenon headlamps. When I turn the car on the headlamps always move up and down as they self adjust, but they seem to settle in aimed way too low. This has just started recently. I haven't had a chance to get under the car - I assume there is some type of sensor under the car. Has anyone dealt with this? And if so where can I start looking to hope it is a simple issue before I take it in.

There are two sensors under the car, at the right side. You'll see them if you look behind the wheels. It's fairly obvious which is the sensor.
Then it's also possible to set the height the lights are going to. You do that on the headlight assembly.
