    Default Fuel Consumption

    My XC70 is a 2.5T auto.

According to the car I am getting between (15.7&17.5 l/100km)(6.4&5.7 km/l)(15.0&13.4 miles/gallon us) how does this compare with the other XC's on the road?!

    Any tips?

With my 2005 XC70 i get about (19 miles/gallon us) in the city and (23 to 25 miles/gallon us) on the highway.

Here is a great website to show what people all over are getting with the xc70. 18 city and 24 highway seem to be the avg.

Combined driving on mine gets about 19.2 according to the internal calculator. I haven't had mine long enough to go on an extended freeway drive.

Most of my driving is city where I get a resounding 14-16 MPG!! *(&(*&(
On the highway I get around 21-22+.
If I'm CAREFUL, watch my right foot and use cruise control set to no higher than 65 MPH, I can get 25-26 MPGs but it's a real PIA and not worth the effort!

I get 11.5L/100km for a combo of around 40mins city and highway per day. Most of the time I don't get stuck in the traffic but sometimes I do like this raining morning.

How can you get 20 city MPG?
I've NEVER been able to get that with any (older) turbo 5 cyl. Volvo

Overall average 10.8l/100km=21.8 mpg US tracked over 80,000km/50,000 miles.

Careful with the MPG mileage quotes due to the two different sizes of gallons (Imperial and U.S.) that might be quoted.

To the OP: track your consumption by measuring fillups and distance. Don't believe the computer as it can be wildly inaccurate. My Volvo reads .8 L/100km high; my Honda reads .3 L/100km low compared to actual consumption.

Today I noticed that while coasting the on board computer still shows fuel consumption for a significant time after i've let up on the accelerator ?! Your thoughts guys?
