Eyeballing an 03 with a DIM issue

Hello all,

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2003 XC70 w/ 137k for $3900. It appears to have a faulty DIM. The flashers aren't blinking and it has the airbag warning. Have any of you used or known someone to use the repair service on eBay "BBA Reman"? They offer repair w/garauntee for $189 & $15 shipping. That seems too good to be true to my Volvo-untrained self.

Usually it's only a couple of solders needed, clean up all the contacts and you're back on your way

I bought this service on ebay and drove to the workshop to drop it off. They have a proffessional shop and quickly repaired my DIM. Just an FYI...my DIM still has the airbag warning. I had it repaired because it completely died and i'm sure you know that a new Volvo unit is $1500.

To turn off the SRS (airbag) light you need to use VIDA after you replace or repair the DIM. Other methods of clearing a CEL won't cut it for the SRS light.

I have an 03 with a failing dim (only the clock and trip odometers are affected thus far, been that way for about 3-4 years now.). I intend to use Xemodex to get mine repaired. http://www.xemodex.com/technologyimp...03-volvo-xc70/
