Xheart, how is the axel recovery coming? Been in those ah you know what situations before... Just remember when you prevail how good the satisfaction is... and then you want to take on your next bigger project!
Thank you for the nudge Tahoe!
I started drilling the first hole with 3/32" bit, it took an hour with anxiety. Then with 1/64 increments, drilled it up to 3/8" hole 1-1/4" deep while catching ATF drips on each bit -- each increment took a minute, FAST. Tightly inserted a foot long threaded bar with the help of a friend who then welded it on, he grabbed the bar with vise-grip on slide hammer. After a dozen turn and knock it was free.
The removed axle piece was rusted (photo coming), the circlip did not move freely.
The car is back on the street, no cv-joint clunk at the first move, R or D. Alignment mark is very close, measured ps95mm/ds94-95mm. It is running better with 2007-53000 miles pair of axle, responsive steering, but with few ATF drops on garage floor. Did I not place the axle shaft seal right? Was ATF overfilled?
I will look into it this weekend. addicted!

Glad to hear you got it out and that the car is driving well... Absent the ATF drips... How long ago was your last flush and did you check he levels when the car was warm? Also, Just out of curiosity how long was the extracted axle piece?
Congratulations.

...I concur!
Here is a photo Tahoe.
I appears original -- dry, rusted, and stuck. I say these axle shafts need service every 50,000 miles - remove, check for vitals, clean, lubricate, replace seal as necessary, and then put it back on.
A simple ATF D&F 3qts was a year ago, an oil change like procedure.
