How have you heard about Auto Evaluators with you up north?
I've heard good and bad about them online. Any one else heard anything about them?

Makes it a lot easier to R&R the ball joint from the control arm if you don't want to unbolt the control arm from the subframe. I've seen it done without the compressor by unbolting the horizontal control arm mount and using a large pry tool fairly easy with 2 guys

I mentioned in my previous post that I replaced the struts too. One side was leaking, my car had 205,000 miles on it at the time.

You wouldn't need the compressor to replace just the ball joints. I dropped the strut assembly out as a unit and disassembled on the ground. You could do the same thing and remove the spindle from it, then replace the ball joint. Just remove the nut for the ball joint from the bottom of the control arm and pry down a little with a bar on the control arm, I had plenty of room.

Yes, I have heard the same, the control arms looked good and still look ok, but I want everything replaced now--that's why I decided to do it in the next few months--more work for me!
