The flip up dog barrier that attaches to the roof mounts or the dividers in the cargo area?

For the factory cargo barrier (or simlar for you model) :

Compress the ends inwards to fit between mounts.
Release so they sit into mounting brackets on roof
Quarter turn (from memory) to lock each side in place.

Page 73 of the 2005 xc70 manual gives some pretty straightforward instructions. Perhaps this works with the '08?
