    Default vibration/grinding noise upon turning and hard acceleration

    this is coming from the front end. I suspect the axles, but was told by the dealer when they looked at the car that they were OK. (odd, too, since the sound and vibration is noticeable although not pronounced.) sounds like worn splines to me, but I don't know.

    this happens mostly when starting from a dead stop but can also occur when accelerating hard at slow speeds; it's not at all noticeable at higher speeds and the car rides smoothly to 90mph

    any tests I can perform in the driveway without pulling the axles?

    Most likely the splined sleeve connecting the transmission to the angle gear as opposed to splines on the axles themselves. Search for it on the forums.
