Default Help please - 04 XC70 Blower not working

Hello. I parked the car for 6 weeks (Sept 12 to Oct 27) on my driveway as I had to be away. Came back last night and car started just fine this morning but noticed blower was not turning on. Fuse #26 is ok. Blower has always worked. Just wondering what being parked have any effect on this. I'm in SW Michigan and it hasn't been that cold yet. But that should not be an issue. btw, All the lights of the blower switch light up as I turn the knob. So maybe its not the resistor?

Also, where is the blower motor located if I have to get to it?

Can someone please help me with this? Thank you.

Most likely culprit is the blower motor itself. It's under/behind the glovebox. Not a hard swap.

The resistor is about $70. Since the resistor is also a suspect, I would do both. But that's me, not a diagnosis.

Avoid "Pro Parts Sweden" - they're not Swedish, they're Chinese, and they sell garbage, not professional parts.

I went ahead and ordered the Behr/Mahle parts from FCP yesterday both motor and resistor. I also ordered a swivel adapter for the torx bit since I think one of the screws is hard to get to. Saw it in the A1 Auto video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dhCRnRaFp-Q

Using the same A1 Auto video, which is very helpful, I replaced the blower the motor about a month ago and also bought a swivel adapter but ended up just using a 1/4 universal. The swivel joint didn't have enough flex angle but that may depend on the brand or the length of the torx socket used. Only one of the torx screws required the universal.

I've had a small ratchet screwdriver like this for about as long as I can remember - very useful when you are tight on space. I think it might work in this case.

Get some Torx bits for it.

    cheers!
