This thread as well as a number of other comments made in the past have led me to believe that a fairly large percentage of people who drive XC's are on the taller side and I just wanted to see, once and for all, how accurate these thoughts are.

One of the main reasons I bought this car was because though my wife is very comfortable driving it at 5'5", it also fits me perfectly at 6'4".

I used to be 6'0" but my doctor "downgraded" me to 5'11½" at my last checkup.

Wow, I'm 5' 11" and 3/4 also. I personally think it is so frustrating to be a bloody 1/4" shy of 6'0". Once in the military I was measured at 6' 0", but I was cheating!!

JUST THIS MORNING, I accompanied my wife to her baby doc appt. and I measured my height in the office... all these years I guess I had been 'rounding up'. Now I know the truth.

Hmmmm -- just measured my height and by golly I've got shorter It must have to do with hauling the garbage out every week. ...or maybe gravity has changed over the years... or maybe my head isn't as big now.

I'm 0.000973 nautical miles high for the sailor types.

    1. As we age, our intervertebral discs (those discs between our vertebra that cause some so much pain) can get dehydrated, hence they start to flatten out which results in a decrease in height. Gravity does play a factor, so if you want to stay the same height, I guess you could go live on Muir..

    2. At 30 years old, our bones are as strong and thick as they will get, beyond that they are a thinnin'. Males (tough as we are) have much thicker bones, so it takes us much longer to thin our bones to the point of fractures, most women have thinner bones, hence the need for taking at least 500mg of Calcium with meals THREE TIMES DAILY as well as 400 international units of Vitamin D three times daily. This will slow the onset of osteoporosis which can cause COMPRESSION FRACTURES of the vertebrae as we age, especially from carrying heavy objects or falls. Yes the vertebrae can actually crush and result in further "shrinkage" and nerve impingement once severe enough. My beautiful wife knows all this, and still doesn't drink enough milk..

Quite the side track on this one, sorry for drifting, but this IS a thread on height!!

Nice to "hear" your voice Barry. Your "Jet-through-the-Sound-Barrier picture that Art posted is now on my desktop... thanks. And I'm sure your head is still as big as ever...

Hmmmm -- gosh NO. It weighs in at around 5,700 lbs (fully populated). It's encounting anomalous MBEs at this time and factory is delaying it's delivery and my schedule has now been compressed by 2 weeks.
