If the stop neutral software was removed early and fluid changes also started early, they were no better or worse than an 02 and maybe even later cars
Unfortunately, no one knew and the software removal was not available for a few years
I was the retail owner beta tester for the stop neutral removal software back in about mid 2001 to early 2002 with only about 12K miles on my 01 at that time, (also with fluid changes) so mine probably turned out to be a good one, but obviously it was the exception.
