Default 1998 XC Driver Seat Problem

    Hey all,
I have a 98 XC that is has a problem with the driver seat rocking about 1/2" and making a clicking noise when I shift my weight on it. It usually happens when getting in or out of the car and also on acceleration. I checked the main mounts and they were all tight. I've searched for a solution on these forums, but only came up with "take it to the dealer" and some fix for the P2 chassis and felt. Anyone having this problem? I am considering getting a seat from a salvage yard, but this one is in good condition and would rather find a solution than replace the seat. Thanks in advance.

There is a Volvo "seat shock" available that was designed to cure the rocking and the clunking.
(It works, I've installed at least 4 in the last 10 years)!
It's not a cheap part and if it's still available the part alone costs over $200 plus the upper seatback cover needs to be removed IIRC or the seat has to come out, I forget which, it's been a while
If your're still interested I can get you the part number later today

That would be great. I really hope they still are available. $200 is a bit steep considering a used seat could be bought for less, but I'd rather keep my seats somewhat matching, and I don't mind doing the work myself as long as the rocking goes away.

How to fix the trunk opener near driver seat in a Corolla?
Last week i closed the trunk with the bookbag stuck in the lock of the trunk...then i tried to open the trunk using the trunk opener thing near driver seat..it got stuck and wont work. Then i opened the trunk using the remote key and it opened. I looked in the trunk and now the cable is loose and it stop working.

I've dealt with similar problems with others cars..but anyone know how this one in the corolla work? where does the cable go from the trunk opener switch thru where...to where then to the trunk?

Please. Thanks 10 points for a well explained answer

I'm not sure if you quite realize, this is a VOLVO forum, not a Toyota forum
Seriously, why would you join a Volvo site to ask this?

YOU screwed the pooch and messed it up.
I've never seen one of these Japanese floor mounted trunk releases fail ... EVER

0 points for asking this on the wrong website
