    Default Its the tran and not the brakes

    That noise turns out to be the tranny. At least that what the shop is saying - I did notice that when in reverse the car will "slip" almost like I was on gravel. Everything is fine in forward - Shop says the clutch packs are failing in reverse.

    Should I go on and pull and do a rebuild or wait until it just goes out?

    Seems that this trans is very common in Nissans and Toyotas.
