    Default rear-end whine

2010 XC60, 59,000 miles. Developed a whine in the rear. Really noticeable when decelerating. I thought maybe wheel bearings, but the Dealer's Tech said rear Haldex. Replaced that...still whines. Now replacing the entire rear end.

Anybody else have a similar problem?

    Rear differential maybe?
    Or the bearings inside?

What would cause the rear end on my 2004 mountaineer to whine during accelerator.?
When I accelarate the rear end whine but when I get the the gas the noise stops. I just put on brand tires factory spec so I know that is not the problem.

I noticed a whine coming from the rear of my 2010 XC90 AWD. The dealer replaced the Right Rear Wheel hub bearing and the niosy whine has completely disappeared. Replaced under warranty.
