Default Sorry, Newbie with tire question

We have 09 XC70 and are running bald original conittrac's at 22K that came on it from factory. We live 2 miles up dirt road in VT and see our fair share of snow. I'm looking to what people have put on for tires in my similar position. I would love devent all season instead of having to swap out for serious snow tires. I'm pretty jealous of the FL posts and positive tire reviews, but that really doesn't apply to us. Any and all responses would be greatly appreciated.
I have found people mention the; Nokia Hakkapeliita WR G2 AW
    Thoughts??
Thanks everyone and cheers from VT!

I always buy the best tire available. Like you, I don't want to change over to winter tires, and we get a bunch of snow out here on the Plains. Best tire I've found so far is Goodyear's Assurance triple tread. Expensive, but great on snow and they're quiet. I got 60k on the last set-- but I do lot's of highway driving.

I prefer a separate set of tires for the winter due to the better traction, especially in VT which does receive a fair amount of snow (next to Quebec, which have a law requiring snow tires in the winter). Your safety will be improved.

See from the economic perspective : You will have double the lifespan of both sets since you'll use each set only half a year.

I tried driving in the winter with all season tires and it's just plain crap. A bit of snow and I must drive like a dwarf grandmother to avoid the ditch.

There is a LOT of information already Posted on this site by myself and others on this Topic.
But to summarize; dedicated winter tires such as Hakka's will require two sets of tires as they will wear excessively in summer and dry conditions.
Nokian WRG2's are the best All Season for snow but at the expense of wear.
For summer or dry road driving there are many suitable.
I just put Michelin MXV4's on my 1999. will see how they do both summer and winter.
2003 stills rides on Nokian WRG2's. Heavy wear and have replaced two already.
2011 did well in snow with Conti 4x4 but with only 6K miles, not sure of wear.
The old P-ST was the best off road but at the expense of ride and noise.-Dick
