I have a 2005 with over 300,000 . It has a broken exhaust valve (edge photo available). Engine runs but I dont think I can justify the repair and I already have a 2007 with about 95,000. so, I may have a parts car or a project car,..

2001 XC70 with 215,000 miles. No big issues but I'm vigilant about the maintenance

    216,xxx Miles here.
I've run nothing but 0w-40 (Mobil or Castrol, though I prefer Castrol) or 5w-40 with Liqui Moly Additive.
75-140 in the Angle Gear for the last year and 80-90 in the differential-No problems to report.
I'll be replacing a noisy center driveshaft hanger bearing before it gets any colder.
    Love these cars!

215,000 on my wife's XC. Still runs great.

Keep after the maintenance - change the oil, angle gear oil, differential oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid regularly. Keep fresh filters on it. Don't ignore clunks and other signs of wear or problems. When addressed early, these problems remain minor. When ignored, then bigger problems result.

As mentioned many times, I am a synthetic oil fan, in 0W40 and recently been very pleased with the Castrol 0W40.
