Is this an XC70 OEM Hitch? Can I use non-Volvo hitch attachments?

We just purchased a 2005 XC70 in NZ to replace the 2004 we owned since new in the US. This 2005 comes with what appears to be an OEM hitch (I haven't seen it in person yet). I'd like to get a rear bike rack that works with this hitch, but I have a feeling it may be a proprietary hitch and unsuitable for a non-Volvo attachment. A family member who handled the purchase recently sent me the following pictures. Can anyone help me identify what this is and whether or not a standard Thule or Yakima hitch mounted rack is going to work? Any help would be much appreciated. Cheers!

I have an OEM hitch installed on my 2006 XC70 and it does not look like the one you show in your pictures.

Thanks for the data point. It does seem like an odd shape and I suspect that it isn't going to take the standard 1.25" or 2" hitch mounted rack ... As an FYI, I'm trying to determine what it is so I can take a suitable rack with me. Which will likely be very hard to come by in NZ.

To me, it looks like a German/European detachable hitch/draw bar.

looks like the "counterpart" to your hitch.

I doubt that you could put anything else than the draw bar into the opening.
