A Pinnacle moment for Volvo and the XC70
Sunday 26 September 2010
The XC did a MARVELOUS job over the weekend.
Location: Nambung National Park, Cervantes, Western Australia
Temperature: 23c
Distance: 450km round trip.
Average speed: 82km/h
Consumption: 9.6L / 100km.
On Sunday we decided to go for a drive to one of our State's natural wonders, The Pinnacles.
Located about 200km North of Perth and at the end of the new Ocean Drive highway, these weird monolithic structures are actually limestone deposits left behind from years and years of wind erosion. Some of these are 4m in height. With a dark blue car in a glowing orange sunset lit park, I was looking forward to the shoot.
Driving up, we first stopped at the beach-side town of Green Head for a lunch picnic. The wind was blowing quite strong so we didn't hang around for long.
Further down the road. These massive white sand dunes were everywhere.
Finally late in the afternoon we made it to the Nambung National Park, home of the Pinnacles.
