    Default The R project



    I have had this XC for a year now and finally decided to make a thread on the progress of works on it. This thread will do little to curb my spending and anti-modification wishes.

    I bought the car from a dealer in NSW and had it shipped across to WA.
    To register it in WA I had to remove the tint. Clearly something I did NOT want to do. Within a week of the tint being removed, a young hooded native smashed the passenger window and broke into the car. After 4 visits to Windscreens O'Brien and a month later, I now have a fully working window. What a nightmare!

    Another thing I have learnt, Volvos do not like to be modified.
    After installing the EVOLVE V70R sport springs, the rears were too low and the camber was so far out I needed new rear tyres within 3 weeks. Then my front right shock blew. Needless to say, I paid the price for incorrect advice on the springs. So I had to reinstall the stock rear springs but soon some S60 AWD springs will be in there.

    After having a previously daily driver full race built EK Civic Type R, 2 Lexus/Toyota Soarer SC400, 1 Toyota Lexus/SC400 with Adaptronic tuned Supercharged Intercooled 400HP, the missus has succeeded to put her foot down and get a family car. Conditions applied.

    I love your car and really love the manual transmission... Jealous

    P.S. please post pics of the ride once you get the rear springs in. Right now it looks like a hot chick poking her butt out..

    Wouldn't be /have been a heck of a lot easier and cheaper in the long run to just buy an R?

    Turns out I have a K24 turbo instead of the 18T

    JRL, V70R are IMPOSSIBLE to find over in Australia. Plus all are Automatic and 2.5 times the price.

    16T + S60R downpipe + Injectors and stage 3 tune going in asap. Finally have stage 3 tune tested and ready to go.
    New window tint applied and is back to its original darkness.
