Default Help! Is vovlo certified warranty transferable?

Considering buying a 2007 xc70. The current owner bought it as a certified preowned. They can't find anything that confirms it is transferable.

I called Volvo customer support and they said they had no way to confirm the warranty coverage. How can I confirm the car will be covered if I buy it?

Any info by experienced volvo owners would be much appreciated....this would be my first Volvo.

That is such BULL SH*T I can't tell you!
All they have to do is look up the VIN and if it's a CPO it says right in the car's file. if it is or isn't.
Take the VIN to your local dealer, they should be able to look it up.
I cannot believe Volvo customer service would tell you this.

Yes, a CPO is automatically trensferred with the car (not the owner).

Ask he owner to produce his bill of sale.
if it's a CPO it should say that on his copy

if the owner can't produce the original bill of sale, then don't buy it until you drive the car or take the VIN number to the dealer and have them assure it is a CPO vehicle.

    Follow up:

JRL confirmed this car was cpo. I bought it in October and have been delighted. However, I did feel forward torque steer and it performed poorly in the snow when we visited Vermont.....took it in today and they confirmed it needed a "differential electronic module" and the cost will be zero because the cpo transferred to me as the new owner!
