Default Plans for 3rd NSW/ACT drive day

Over lunch on the 2nd drive day (http://www.volvoxc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=15065), we came up with a date for our third drive:
    Sunday 7 March 2010.

I can come down to Sydney for the weekend, and we could do something a little closer to home for the Sydney drivers.

So, any suggestions for a route?

    From the Mountains...

    to the Highlands...

    & down to the Coast!!

    My 2c ...

    Start:
    Sydney
    Royal National Park
    Stanwell Tops
    Seacliff Bridge
    Wollongong

    Morning tea:
    Kiama blowhole

    Nowra
    (Jervis Bay?)
    Ulladulla

    Lunch (location subject to time):
    Batemans Bay/Mogo/Moruya/Narooma

Afternoon tea (location subject to time):
    Braidwood
    Bungendore

    Queanbeyan

    Dinner:
    Canberra

    Goulburn
    Sydney

May be a tad ambitious, & haven’t factored in any off-road drifting/mud slides, but just to kick things off. A load of national parks & forests along the way...

Good to get in before daylight saving ends!

I'm in. Note very slow progress through scenic unsealed roads. Not so much our slow driving, but the regular stops for photos which result in chat. Either way, I'm happy. I say we let the family "units" decide amongst each other what the next itinerary should be.

My preference is for a majority off road or unsealed trip rather than a "cruise". I note that we discussed the possibility of going to a 4WD park - if one exists. I would be much happier getting my XC filthy!

    Default Nice 2nd drive day

Hey guys I wish I done the drive with you guys, those photos are spectacular is there any more photos? the scenery is just great , what about the XC's how did they handle the terrain.
I had to catch up on study exams next two weeks then this simester is over, so then I will be able to meet some of you.
By the way how many kilometers did youse clocked on that trip and fuel consumption.
Every time we drive to Jervis bay (Callala beach) I have to say the fuel consumption is really good and the XC see to have ample power to handle any situation.
Any way well done and nice pics,
    Cheers

I logged an average of 9.9L/100km on the drive. I wasn't trying to drive efficiently, pushing it fairly hard through some of the corners on the sealed sections of road. Unsealed was taken with care. All the cars handled all conditions with utmost ease and in great comfort too.

All up well over 200 photos were taken. I guess more will show up in due course.

I recommend you lock yourself in for the 3rd drive day, 7th March, and join in the fun.
    Cheers,

I averaged 9.7 (on the trip computer) and did 590km between breakfast and dinner.

As for the terrain - I'd almost say "what terrain?". Apart from a couple of bends with loose surface, which I took a wee bit faster than I should have , it was a sinch. The warning sign at Swallow Tail Pass (you probably saw the photo in the post) was a bit melodramatic.

Hope you can join in the fun on 7 March.
